Welcome to Kindergarten

Welcome to Bitterroot School,

You are invited to bring your school supplies to school on Monday from 5-6.  Come spend 10 to 15 minutes so can find your room, desk and coat hook.  It would be very helpful if your supplies were all labeled so we can identify your crayons or glue if they should fall out of your desk.

Our room gets very warm, so I would encourage your child to bring a water bottle to school.  It must have a non-spill lid, and will be brought home each day to be washed and refilled.

Breakfast starts at 7:45.  All children start the morning walk on the north side of the building.  When the bell rings at 8:20 our class will walk to line up.  The children’s lunch time is from 10:50 until 11:25.  The children will play outside for 20 minutes then come into eat lunch.  We hope this will encourage the children to take their time and enjoy lunch.  If you need to buy a lunch ticket, you may buy one for a day, week, or month.  The lunch clerk keeps track of this for your child.  You receive a note just before the ticket runs out.
At 2:30 we will dismiss from the north door and line up by the fence. The children are taught to give me a high five to indicate that their parent is here to pick them up.

Our class rule is simply, “Treat others and their property as you would want to be treated.”

My favorite educational sites are found on the right hand side of this page.
For all areas of math, go under Math Games.   For reading visit the site called Starfall.

It will be my attempt to call each of you before the end of September just to let you know how your child is doing and to answer any questions you may have. Please feel free to call me in the morning  from 7:30 -8:10 or after school from 2:45-4. The school number is 281-6205.  My school e-mail address is periuse@billingsschools.org.  If you  wish to be contacted by e-mail, please send me your address.  Also, check out our classroom blog for information about our class and ga
