Math  goals for your child this week are to introduce/review the numbers 1-5.  We will practice how to make the numbers as well as build groups of object to match the number. 

Ways to help your child---
Give your child  a  handful  of cereal, have them touch each piece and count.  Take some away and have your child touch and recount.

Count the number of windows in a room,  count the number of letters in their name,  count the cups on the table.

 

Reading  goals. I will also introduce the letters Aa, Bb, Cc, Dd, and Ee.  The students will learn to sign each letter, practice the correct way to form the letters, and learn the sound each letter makes. 

Ways  to help  your  child. 
Read to your child nightly.  Point out or ask your child to find the letters we are practicing this week.
While driving point out business signs and how the letters are used to spell the words.
 

Friday will be Show and Tell day.  The show and tell item must have something to do with the letter of the week.  This Friday your child could bring anything that starts with or has the lettert A in it.  I encourage the children to bring something educational, acorns, apple seeds, a picture of Alaska, ants, ect.  Please have your child practice what they would like to share with the class.
