This week we will continue on learning about tens.
Monday the children will practice the concept of
6 groups of tens equals 60
8 groups of tens equals 80
Tuesday will continue Mondays lesson by practicing the
concept that ___ ten and ___ ones = _ _
5 tens and 5 ones = 55
Hopefully they will see the pattern of joining the numbers.
They will learning the terms digit, ones, tens
Wednesday we will take the lesson the next step by
adding __ten + _ones = __ _
4 tens +8 ones = 48
40+8=48
Thursday the children will be breaking numbers down.
59= 50 + 7 or 59 + 40 = 17
This will be very difficult to see numbers this way.
Friday may be our day to review and clarify these hard lessons.
