Text Talk is a program we use in first grade to help develop
vocabulary. We read a story which contains six new words
that we will learn and try to use in conversation. The children
are not asked to spell them, just have a understanding of
what the word means.
Our story is "Amelia's Road". Amelia hates roads because they never go where she wants to go. She is tired of being a migrant worker and having to move from place to place. When she finds the place of her dreams, she leaves a box of treasures behind as a promise she will return someday.
