We will continue to practice adding and subtracting numbers
zero through twelve.
We will do this by playing games using dice, playing four in a row,
and by solving story problems in our journals.
Today we learned about related facts.
The children took a addition problem and found
another way to add them and two ways to subtract them.
This is a difficult concept. An example of what we did is
below.
2+7=9
7+2=9
9-7=2
9-2=7
All three members of the family are found in every sentence.
We talked about where we find the largest number when adding
and where it would be found when subtracting.
A money game was sent home this week.
The game will help your child identify the name and value of the coin.
